RCCG Woman Rescued From Jumping Into Lagos Lagoon Reveals Her Problems (Photos)

"As you are seeing me like this, well dressed, you would think am living fine. But in my heart is a heavy burden. A burden of huge debt, disappointment from trusting people and abandoned by a son I love and bought a car for. I am a moving corpse".

Shortly after the report of Mrs. Abigael Ogunyinka who was rescued by fishermen in Lagos Lagoon early Friday morning, another woman was today prevented at about 11:25 a.m from leaping into the Lagoon by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos state Police Command.

The lady, Taiwo Momoh, 58, a textile dealer in Lagos Island, had put off her shoes and was wrapping her dress around her when men of RRS 226 prevented her from jumping.

The lady, who lives in Lekki Lagos, disclosed that she was pushed to committing suicide in order to put an end to her constant sleeplessness and shame occasioned by her indebtedness to three Swiss textile dealers.

She noted that her problem started sometimes in 2015, when a Bureau De Change dealer carted away her N18.7 million she wanted to change to pay her foreign creditors.

She added that the creditors had given her Swiss textiles worth several millions of naira, noting that she has maintained good relationship with the creditors for more than 15 years.

Her condition she said became compounded when robbers invaded her shop in Lagos Island carting away most of the textiles that was left with her.

She emphasized that most of the time, she has been having sleepless nights and seeing the ghosts of the creditors whenever she was alone.

Momoh, a member of the Redeemed Christain Church of God disclosed that on several occasions she had attempted to see her Parish Pastor to identify with her problem and for the church to help her raise money to meet her Swiss Creditors in order to assure them that she would pay their money.

She noted that she was only allowed to see the second in command, which has yielded no fruits.

“Added to all these, my first son, whom I felt would stand by me and console me abandoned me. By the time I’m gone, maybe he would come around and inherit what is left.

I don’t want to use my debt and death to disturb anybody. I was in the shop this morning. I have looked everywhere and estimated what is there. I think, with my house, a bungalow, those I am leaving behind can still live comfortably. I want to go and meet God. This world is empty”, she stated.

“I won’t because I want to get rich join cult group. I go my way and I don’t socialize unnecessarily”, she concluded.

She added, “I was a Muslim, I have because of this problem been jumping from one faith to the other. The problem is too much for me to bear. I want to go back to God.

That is why I have dressed very simply. I am ready to meet HIM. If He cannot address my problem on earth, let me go back to Him.”

See What A Nigerian Man Who Lives In UK Wrote After Watching Nigeria Vs Senegal Match

One Nigerian man Okpanachi who lives in London has written an inspiring piece after watching the Super Eagles battle it live with their Senegalese counterpart in a match drawn one goal to one.

See What he wrote here:

'So yesterday at Barnet Hive, North West London where the Super Eagles of Nigeria battled the Teranga Lions of Senegal, I saw one Nigeria NG. I saw Nigerians come together irrespective of tribe ethnicity & religion. I met Nigerians I have never met in my life, it was like one big family as we sang danced and cheered our Green White Green Team up. Especially when we were one goal down to the giant & tall Senegalese players.
We started our usual song ; ALL WE ARE SAYIINNGGG GIVE US ONE GOALLLL!! And as such, the Eagles responded from the spot thru Kelechi Iheanacho.
It was a wonderful togetherness yesterday as we jumped on each other in celebration.

Shortly, another thought stroke me, why can't we all be united & cheerful like this always and all the time?? Why must it be football that brings us together in love and harmony like this?? That thought was what I went to bed with not the football match.

Shina Peter's House Versus Jim Ovia's Bank

I know many of you will say, heeyy, i have read this before now...well, you are seeing it again because its worth reading every now and then. If its just this you go home with, you are enriched.

Now, listen, in 1990, Shina Peters built a house with N20 million naira; the same year Jim Ovia started Zenith Bank with the same amount.
Today, you and I don't have a room in Shina's house but I have an account in Jim's bank and probably you do too.

Shina's house was built in Iju Lagos and remains there till date.Jim's bank started in a corner and now has over 500 branches in Nigeria, and many international branches.
Millions upon millions transact business in Jim's bank daily. Shina's house is becoming 2015, he SPENT more money to renovate the house and bought a Nissan Pathfinder with N10 million...additional liability, while in the same 2015, Jim's bank MADE a profit of N105.7 billion.
Zenith bank employs hundreds of thousands, and feeds their families.

This is the difference between Assets and Liability. If you buy a car for N20 million today, in 20 years time, you will be ashamed to drive it. On the other hand, if you invest that same amount in a lucrative business or in an asset, It may be worth billions in 20 years. ( Jim Ovia is now worth $980 million dollars, with the official dollar rate of N320, that means he is worth N313 BILLION NAIRA because of an investment of N20 million).

Spend the little money you have today wisely. Some people driving expensive cars today, are not aware that they are driving their future and the future of their children. Some people carrying iphone7 today, may not be aware that they are carrying their future.

When you are young, don't spend money. Invest it. Every penny in your hand is like a seed, you can decide to eat it, or sow it. When you sow it, it will bear much more seeds later in future.

Nigerian Boy Becomes First Black Student To Build A Nuclear Fusor

Sixteen-year-old Nigerian teenager, Steven Udotong, has invented a nuclear energy fusor, making him the first black student to attain such feat.

A fusor is a device that uses an electric field to heat ions to suitable condition for nuclear fusion.

The machine generates an electric potential difference between two metal cages inside a vacuum.

Speaking in an interview with, Udotong, a high school junior in Southern New Jersey, hoped that his invention would inspire a cleaner, more environmentally-friendly future for all.

He was able to achieve the feat by creating a GoFundMe page, where he raised 1,500 dollars for supplies, in just one month.

He said “I grew curious after we flew by the topic of nuclear energy in my chemistry class last year. I decided to do more research and I soon learned that I could actually make a nuclear fusor.

“That sparked my interest. I want people to know that there are alternate methods for obtaining power and energy.

“I want to examine more clean energy products and stop the fear of the word “nuclear,” Steven shared in an interview on The Well, Jopwell’s Digital Magazine, with his older brother, Emmanuel, a computer science student at Princeton University.

“Nuclear energy is a lot safer than people think,” he added.

Just last summer, Steven was accepted into Yale Young Global Scholar Programme, which allowed him to pursue the engineering workshop at the Singapore campus.

He was one of three students from New Jersey to attend the workshop.

He said he realised he could be the first black student to build a nuclear reactor.

He added that “I was motivated because I knew that there were many other
ways for minorities to pursue success. Sports and music were not the only avenues for us.

“There’s room for us. There’s a need for us to participate in academia, business, art, law, medicine, and yes, nuclear energy.

“I hope this project will become an example of academic excellence as vehicle of accomplishment for black students.”

Udotong who has just completed the first part of his invention says when he is done he planned to enter it in science fairs and competitions for a chance to pursue scholarship opportunities.

His ultimate goal, he said, was to start a conversation on state and federal level, about more serious action toward adopting alternative energy sources.

Buhari Orders Sack Of PermSec Who Has Been Double Dealing

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the sack of a Permanent Secretary, who has been allegedly using his office to defraud the Federal Government through the award of phantom contracts worth billions of Naira to himself.

A source in the ministry confirmed that two police officers drove the sacked permanent secretary from the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, raising concerns as to what might have led to such an action. The permanent secretary, was appointed by Buhari in 2015, was fired, Tuesday, on the orders of the President.

A Presidency source confirmed to Vanguard that the President ordered the immediate removal of the top civil servant, who presided over the affairs of one of the strategic ministries handling intervention programmes in the country following evidence that he awarded contracts to companies belonging to him.

Vanguard learned that the sacked permanent secretary had deployed several strategies to evade a sting operation, which had been planned by one of the anti-graft agencies, thereby making it impossible for the operatives to track him down.
It was learned that key officials of the ministry, who got wind of the illicit activities of the permanent secretary, drew the attention of security agencies to the development and called for urgent investigation of the man.

One of the security agency officials, who handled the investigation of the sacked permanent secretary, told our correspondent that the sting operation planned against the official was frustrated by him and his agents, forcing them to delay his arrest since January this year.

“We have been monitoring the man and the various companies being used by him to siphon huge sums of money from the ministry, which handles intervention programmes in the Niger Delta region but he has been very smart and suspicious of our movement, thereby making it impossible for us to arrest him despite the ambush we laid for him and his cronies,” one of the operatives told Vanguard last night.

He said: “But Mr. President did not waste time in asking the Head of Service of the Federation to sack the man with immediate effect as soon as he got to know that the man had used over 500 companies to award fake contracts to himself and move huge sums of money from the ministry in question.”

“In fact, the discovery of the large scale fraud in the ministry, which has suffered a lot of project failure and the subsequent sacking of the permanent secretary by Mr. President, followed painstaking investigation by the anti-corruption agencies, which will soon charge the man to court,” the source added.

John Dumelo Caught With Missing Car Of Government (Photos)

John Dumelo
Top Ghanaian actor John Dumelo appears to have landed in trouble after he was allegedly caught with a state vehicle by government agents. According to reports, the vehicle is a Toyota Land Cruiser V8. The vehicle was said to be one of the 200 vehicles the presidency says are missing.

John Dumelo was caught with the vehicle at a spraying shop in Accra where he had allegedly taken it to be resprayed.According to reports,he initially said that the former first lady, Lordina Mahama, gave him the vehicle. Then he reportedly changed his tune, saying that he bought it himself. However, a look at the car's chasis number (VIN number) is said to have given him away.He reportedly handed over the car without any resistance.

Last year, the star actor was spotted cruising around with a Toyota Land Cruiser car. However,it is unclear if it is the same vehicle that was seized by government agents.

It should be recalled that John Dumelo was an ardent supporter of former president John Mahama ahead of the December election.Alongside Nigerian Dele Momodu and others,he travelled across the country campaigning for Mahama, who eventually lost to Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).At a time he was at a loggerhead with star actress Yvonne Nelson because she was against Mahama's administration.

Below are photos of the car he was spotted cruising with last year.

London School Of Economics Debunks Dino Melaye's Degree Claim

Sen. Dino Melaye
The fiasco over Senator Dino Melaye’s fraudulent claims of possessing several degrees and certificates has continued to escalate as SaharaReporters learned today that the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has discredited the senator’s assertion that he possesses a degree from the UK university. The university stated that it had absolutely no evidence that the senator received any formal education at the reputable university. LSE, which is based in London, is one of the higher institutions of learning where Mr. Melaye claimed that he had earned one certificate or another.

In an email to SaharaReporters, Candy Gibson, a Senior Media Relations Officer at LSE, stated, “We have checked our records and can find no evidence of Dino Melaye having any degree qualification from the London School of Economics and Political Science.”

Mr. Melaye, who runs no known form of business but flaunts his material possessions, especially such expensive automobiles as Bentley and Lamborghini, had claimed that he obtained seven degrees from several institutions, including Harvard and LSE. Under scrutiny, the senator’s academic claims have been exposed as bogus after a colleague of his, Senator Ali Ndume, urged the legislative body last Tuesday to probe Mr. Melaye’s educational records.

On various sites, including the official Senate online page as well as such social media forums as LinkedIn and Twitter, Mr. Melaye claimed that his educational profile includes degrees from seven universities. He created the impression that he earned three degrees from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, his first university where he purportedly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. Among his discredited or questionable academic claims are the assertion that he studied at the University of Abuja for a Masters in Policy Analysis, and received degrees from the London School of Economics and Political Science, Harvard University and a post-graduate degree from the University of Jos.

SaharaReporters has confirmed that at least two of these claims are outright falsehoods. The registrar’s office at Harvard University noted in a statement that while Mr. Melaye completed a week-long leadership seminar in November 2016, he did not graduate from the university. Then, just today, the London School of Economics and Political Science responded to our correspondent’s inquiry by stating unambiguously that there was no proof on the institution’s database that Mr. Melaye obtained any degree qualification from the school.

At one point, officials at ABU indicated their plan to make a statement on whether Mr. Melaye completed his coursework in the Department of Geography. However, they may have abandoned the plan following resistance from key officials of the Geography Department who insist that the senator never met the criteria for graduation.

Since last Tuesday when SaharaReporters broke the report that Mr. Melaye’s academic claims were hollow, the flamboyant senator tweeted a threat to sue the website for N5 billion.

Examination officers at the Department of Geography, where Mr. Melaye spent almost eight years as a student, told our correspondent that the senator never fulfilled his course requirements to graduate. They accused then Head of Department of Geography, David Ogbonna, of cooking up results to enable Mr. Melaye to evade course requirements, which included mandatory courses required for graduation.

SaharaReporters learned that since the certificate scandal broke, some top officials of ABU had been pressuring the staff of Geography Department to certify that Mr. Melaye graduated with a third class. A source at the Geography Department told our correspondent that such a certification would be fraudulent.

Man got pregnant and gave birth to his daughter because his wife could not get pregnant!

A while back the news of a pregnant man who eventually gave birth to his child made headlines. The man has now revealed how he carried and gave birth to his daughter and the reason he did that.

Chris Rehs-Dupin, 33, made for a unique sight when he sported beards and a protruding belly that could not simply be explained off as a beer belly.

He carried the pregnancy to term, gave birth and even breastfed her and his reason for going through all that is because his wife could not fall pregnant.

Chris had been born a female, Christina. He then met his wife Amy, 33, when they were both in their 20s and working at a children's summer camp and they fell in love immediately. They got into a civil partnership in October 2012 and legally married in 2013 then decided they wanted a family. The plan was for Amy to be the biological mother but after five attempts of intrauterine insemination failed, Chris, who was at the time a pre-op transgender, volunteered to carry their child.

After five rounds of IUI treatment using sperm from an anonymous donor and a miscarriage, he finally gave birth naturally on December 20, 2014, to a girl named Hayden.

Chris, who now runs children’s summer camps, explained how his life unfolded to bring him to the point of deciding to have a baby even after identifying as male and how his gender was not an issue for his wife:

“When I went to university in 2007, I knew I wasn’t a woman and it was an easy realisation to make. I didn’t want to take hormones, because I was happy with who I was and who I was presenting myself as, but I have always been very open with Amy.”
Amy added to Chris' explanation: “By the time I met him, I knew the issue of his gender was at the forefront of his mind. And, eventually, he became more masculine and lived as a man. Chris was my soul mate. I loved everything about him. It didn’t matter what he looked like.”

Speaking on their unusual arrangement, Amy said: "There was no question who would carry the baby. I couldn’t wait to be pregnant."

But things didn't work out as hoped and they improvised.
"We went through a lot of fertility treatments, until we finally reached a point where we needed to make a decision as to whether we were going to do more medical intervention or if we were going to switch bodies," Amy said. “We were fortunate enough to have two uteruses. So, after a lot of thought and emotion and difficulties we switched to Chris.”

Hormones released during the pregnancy made Chris' breast to begin growing again after years of binding them flat and he did not like that bit. Amy tried to breastfeed after the baby was born by taking drugs that will stimulate her body into producing breast milk but the milk was not sufficient so, eventually, Chris had to breastfeed.

Being pregnant made Chris more certain than ever that he wanted to complete his transition to become a man. He also wanted to fully transition so as to be an example to his daughter by letting her know she shouldn't be afraid to be who she is.
“I knew it would make me a better and a happier person, a whole person, to start a medical transition. When my daughter came I knew I didn’t want her to be afraid of who she is and it’s important for me to model that behaviour,” he said.

Having Hayden made Amy even more determined to carry a baby herself so since there was no medical reason why Amy could not conceive, they decided to try again. In January 2016 Chris started his medical transition and Amy became pregnant in the same month, on her first attempt. She finally gave birth to another child, Milo, via caesarean section.

“When I was the pregnant one, because I had a husband who had been there before, it was different. He understood what I was going through, what I was feeling. It was a benefit that not a lot of women have,” Amy said.

Chris will love to have another child and does not rule out the possibility of carrying it himself. Amy, on her part, is simply happy with the family they have and is pleased that Chris is in a good place and feels happy in his skin.

“We would love to have a third child. I hope to have breast reconstruction surgery, but will not have a bottom surgery, or have my ovaries removed, so I haven’t ruled out carrying it. We’ll have to fight over it this time," Chris said.

“We’ve been on an incredible journey as a family, but we have two amazing kids and Chris is finally happy in his own body,” Amy added.

Dino Melaye storms Abuja Federal High Court to sue SaharaReporters for N5billion (photos)

Senator Dino Melaye is set to file a N5 billion libel suit against online media platform, Sahara Reporters.

Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District is filing the suit over what he termed alleged defamation of character, wrongful accusation, among other charges. According to his media office, the suit was filed at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, at 9am on Thursday.

Recall that Melaye has been embroiled in a certificate scandal since Sahara Reporters published a report that the lawmaker never graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he attended his first degree course.

A development that caught the Senate’s attention Tuesday, leading to its decision to refer the matter to
its Ethics and Privileges Committee for investigation.

The committee was directed to investigate the claim that Dino Melaye does not possess an authentic first degree certificate from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

During the day’s plenary presided by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, the upper legislative chamber decided to conduct the investigations, following a point of order raised by ousted Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, who noted that both issues, raised by the online medium, borders on the privileges of the senators.

Ndume, brandishing a copy of a newspaper which reported the alleged certificate forgery, said the reports have caused insults to be rained on the Senate by Nigerians.

Breaking: SGF, Babachir Lawal, Backtracks; "Begs" Senate To Reschedule Hearing

Babachir Lawal
The secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has asked the senate ad hoc committee on the humanitarian crisis in the north-east to reschedule his appearance.

The committee had summoned Lawal to appear before it on Thursday. The summons followed allegations of corruption levelled against him.
But he wrote to the committee, saying that he would not appear before it because he had gone to court to challenge the invitation.

However, Lawal wrote again to the committee through Shehu Sani, its chairman, asking for a rescheduling of the hearing, citing a “pressing engagement” as the reason for his request.
He wrote in the letter seen by TheCable;

“I wish to kindly request that you draw the attention of the other members of the committee that I will not be able to appear before the committee primarily because of a pressing engagement of government which clashed with the date and time of the hearing,”

"Don Jazzy Is Making Money Because Of Me" – Eedris Abdulkareem Brags

Nigeria's controversial rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has said in an interview with Hip TV, that artistes like Don Jazzy are making a lot of money because of sacrifices older artistes like himself made.

Eedris said;

“Without the old artistes, the new artistes won’t make money, because we fought for the life that they are living right now.
“We put food on their table because of what we fought for, and we are very happy, and that’s why we are legends, you understand. But if anyone of them tries to disrespect, we will put them back to where they belong.
“All of them, from Don Jazzy and all of them, they lived in London, how come the British government never gave them opportunity, they had to come to Nigeria because we made it happen,”
