IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and founder of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has expressed regret for referring to President Muhammadu Buhari as a terrorist, evil and a paedophile in his radio broadcasts.
Kanu, who has been charged along with two others by the Federal Government before a Federal High Court in Abuja on six counts of treason and other ancillary offences, said he intended to write a private letter to Buhari to express his apology to the President.
He also apologised to former President Goodluck Jonathan and Igbo elders for “some uncomplimentary things”he said about them.

An Islamic cleric, Mallam Shehu, popularly referred to as Alhaji Sambo, attempted to use his 20-year-old lover, Busayo Amdalat, for money ritual.
The victim, who resides in Ibeju-Lekki, was said to have visited the cleric at Mowo Phase 2 in Badagry to spend the Christmas holidays.
It was gathered that in the early hours of yesterday, the cleric had a visitor known as Ifa and they asked the victim to put on a white cloth and when she did, the cleric and his accomplice hit Busayo with an iron rod on her head.
The Federal Government, yesterday, stated that effective January 1, 2016, petrol, would be sold at N86 per litre by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC Retail stations.All other oil marketers would sell at N86.50 per litre.The new stance was made known in Abuja during a news conference by the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, Mr. Farouk Ahmed.
He said the revised template,would be reviewed on quarterly basis and which would soon be presented to oil marketers.He said

A drunk policeman, Stephen James, on Saturday shot dead three male customers at a hotel in the Ketu area of Lagos State.
According to SUNDAY PUNCH, among the deceased were twin brothers identified as Taiwo and Kehinde Oyesunle and their friend known simply as Jeje. The twins were the only children of their mother.
The tragic incident; which happened outside the premises of Paulson Hotel on Anibaba Street around 4:20pm, threw the entire neighbourhood and its environs into chaos with passers-by and residents scampering in different directions.
Yesterday, about 150 Muslim youths as well as Imams yesterday worshipped with their Christian brethren during Christmas service in Kaduna to strengthen peace, unity and religious tolerance in the state.
According to the the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Pastor Yohanna Buru, the general overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry led the service in Kaduna.

According to the police, a teaching assistant repeatedly had sex with a 15-year-old student before being caught by her husband.
The identified woman named Kyle Damato-Kushel, 45, from Stratford, Connecticut, gave her husband the shock of his life by bringing home a 15-year-old student to their home to have sex. The shocked man didn’t even know that his wife had been having sex with the teenage boy since 2013, it is claimed.
However, her luck ran out after she was allegedly caught when her husband, thinking there were burglars in the house, called police when he heard noises from elsewhere within the property.

Following his vow to crush Boko Haram by the end of December 2015,President Muhammadu Buhari has told the BBC the Nigerian military is close to completely defeating the Islamist militants.
He said the militants could no longer mount conventional attacks against security forces or population centres.
"I think, technically, we have won the war,"The jihadists have been forced to cut back on suicide bombings as a result of the military action against them, President Buhari said.
Following a fresh six-count charges filed by the Federal Government of Nigeria against the embattled Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu appeared before Justice Ahmed Mohammed-led Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday.
Kanu was charged before the Federal High Court, Abuja alongside two others, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi in a fresh six-count charge of treason and managing the affairs of ‘an unlawful society.’ The government is accusing Mr. Kanu of plotting to split Nigeria, by creating a Biafra Republic with south east, south south states, and parts of Kogi and Benue states, as component units.

EFCC slams theft charge on Tompolo, Akpobolokemi, accuse them of converting NIMASA's $108.7m & N2.2bn properties
Both were charged before a Federal high court sitting in Lagos south west Nigeria. Charged with them were three other accused persons and five limited liability companies The eight other accused to be arraigned alongside the accused Niger Delta militant and ex-NIMASA boss are, Global West Vessel specialist limited, Odimiri Electricals Limited, Kime Engozu, Boloboere Property and Estate Ltd, Rex Elem, Destre Consult Ltd, Gregory Mbonu and Captain Warredi Enisuoh.

Former Aviation minister, Fani Kayode has lambasted the Buhari led government for continuously blaming former president,Jonathan for it's present woes..In a statement ,he accused the APC government of spending money like a drunken sailor .He said
“The 2016 budget is fueled by insincerity, shrouded in fantasy, built on tall dreams and spawned by deceit, ignorance and the illusion of change. It is bloated, unrealistic, expensive, cosmetic and it will not result in anything good.
“In order to fund part of the budget the government intends to borrow money and this will throw our country into even greater debt. What a tragedy this is given the fact that in 2007 Nigeria was debt-free. The Buhari administration is spending money like a drunken sailor and they are borrowing as if there is no tomorrow, mortgaging the future of our nation and our children.''
The police in Lagos have arrested a suspected robber, Saliu John, on the Old Apapa Road, Oyingbo, after allegedly dispossessing some market women of about N28,000.
John, who was said to have come to the area with two others, was nabbed by members of a vigilance group after he reportedly missed his way after the operation.
It was learnt that John and other accomplices had suddenly become separated, forcing the suspect to hide behind a tanker parked on the road. It was learnt that some local security men later sighted him there.

AS members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) jubilated last week over the news of the release of their leader, Mr Nnamdi Kanu, by the Federal High Court in Abuja, the Federal Government has slammed a fresh charge of treasonable felony on the Radio Biafra Founder, who had been detained since three months ago.
The Federal Government had gone to a Federal High Court in Abuja last Friday to prefer six charges against Kanu, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi.
In the charge-sheet signed by the Director, Public Prosecution (DPP), Mohammed Saidu Diri, for the Attorney-General of the Federation and exclusively obtained by Daily Sun, Kanu and the two others were charged with treasonable felony which is punishable under Section 41(C) of the Criminal Code Act, CAP C38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
No fewer than 20 suspected cultists were reported to have raped four undergraduate students of the Delta State University, Abraka.
According to Daily Post, one of the victims, identified as Cecilia of the Sociology Department, was among the four girls who allegedly surrendered themselves to be molested by the suspected cultists.
Some reports have it that the girls were ambushed and raped on Saturday evening while returning home from a church service.
President Muhammadu Buhari has apologised to Nigerians over the fuel scarcity that has persisted across the country since October.This comes after the Minister of Information,Lai Mohammed blamed the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan for the current scarcity.
According to PM news, the apologized during the presentation of the 2016 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly on Tuesday in Abuja.

A group of Kenyan Muslims travelling on a bus ambushed by Islamist gunmen, protected Christian passengers by refusing to be split into groups during an attack by Islamic sect members on their bus which was traveling from the capital Nairobi to the town of Mandera this morning.
The militants ambushed the bus, asked all the passengers to come down, then they asked the Muslims among them to return into the bus while the Christians should stay back.
The 66 soldiers who were sentenced to death between March 2015 have had their sentences commuted to 10 years each in jail.The soldiers were charged and sentenced to death for mutiny and related offences in the fight against Boko Haram.A statement by the acting director, Army public relations, Colonel Sani Usman, said the directive was carried out to examine the merit of each case, adding that
“it was on the basis of the review and recommendations that the Chief of Army Staff commuted the death sentences of the 66 soldiers to ten years jail term”
The Nigerian Chief of Army staff, Tukur Buratai is expected to appear before the senate committee over the clash between Shiite Muslims and the members of the Nigerian Army in Zaria which led to the death of over 60 people. He is expected to appear before the House joint Committee on Army/National Security/Intelligence and Public Safety,alongside the Director General of the Department of State Services, Lawan Daura.

A woman has posted a selfie taken on a plane in which she claims she was photobombed - by an alien.
Olesya Podkorytov from Russia said she took the picture during the flight on a whim but when she posted it on social media friends pointed out something strange a few seats behind.
The young woman was on a business trip and said she was not sure why she suddenly decided to take a selfie as she said it is not usually something she would do,UK Mirror reports .
She said when she shared the snap online that she was flooded with comments alerting her to the "alien".

The 56 year old still has 225 years, five months and ten days left to serve for first degree rape of his daughter, a crime he continues to deny, supported by members of his network of friends and family. Few years after he was incarcerated, Emma Ngene had partial stroke from the stress of the trial and subsequent imprisonment.

Emmanuel became a regular visitor to his homeland from America; frequenting his village to be with his new wife and family. He returned every holiday, especially Christmas, to celebrate with his wife and other members of the family. Their first child, a baby girl, was born on November 9, 1998 in Nigeria. A Danish comedian has come under fire after posting a picture online of him and his toddler daughter having a bath together.
Torben Chris has shared the picture with his two-year-old and his facebook Page blew up.
He however fired back, explaining on his Facebook post :
"Someone told me that he had been accused of paedophilia by a stranger because he bathed with his two-year-old daughter. Another had been warned that "urge" to paedophilia, because he had shared a picture of a French braid on his 11-year-old daughter's bare back on social media,

A yet-to-be identified man has been beheaded at Amese community in Akure, the Ondo State capital beside a mountain where some people pray and worship.
A source told Punch Metro on Thursday that the worshippers, who went to pray at the mountain on Wednesday, found the headless body of the man at the base of the mountain.

A heartbroken dad is pleading with the world for help as Saudi Arabia prepare to behead and then crucify his teenage son.
Abdullah Al-Zaher was aged just 15 when he was arrested in the kingdom after attending a protest rally against the government.
Now just 19, he faces being executed and crucified along with 51 other people.

MTN Nigeria acting on legal advice has resolved that the manner of the imposition of the fine and the quantum thereof is not in accordance with the NCC’s powers under the Nigerian Communications Act and therefore there are valid grounds upon which to challenge the fine.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the Managing Director of Stallion Group, Harprrie Singh, over a suspicious N1.25billion payment he made into the account of former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda for Former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki.
Investigations by EFCC revealed that one of the companies being investigated in the arms deal scandal, Jabbama Company, a bureau de change operator, had received payment of N1.375 billion from Stallion group with a later deduction of N100 million, leaving a balance of N1.275billion. The money was changed into US Dollars ($114,750,000) and handed to Yuguda.

All charges against Director of Radio Biafra and Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu,were on Wednesday discharged dropped .
After holding that the government had dropped the charges against Kanu, Magistrate of the Chief Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, Shuaibu Usman, ruled:
“The accused person is hereby discharged and the case struck out.”
A Saudi millionaire has been cleared of raping a teenager after claiming he might have accidentally penetrated the 18-year-old when he tripped and fell on her.
Property developer Ehsan Abdulaziz, 46, was accused of forcing himself on the girl as she slept off a night of drinking on the sofa of his Maida Vale flat,Mirror reports..
He had already had sex with her 24-year-old friend and said his penis might have been poking out of his underwear after that sexual encounter when he tripped on the 18-year-old.
The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos today sentenced 5 Filipinos identified as Axel Joseph Gibo Jabone, Juanito Camireno Infantado, Suarin Fernado Alave, Gatila Jaypee Gadayan and Rolando Jose Commendador and four Bangladeshis identified as Md Zahirul Islam, Islam Shahinul, Islam Rafiqul and Shaikn Shibli Nomany, to 20 years imprisonment each, with fine options of N20million per person for crimes relating to crude oil theft in Nigeria.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had dragged the 9 foreigners before the court alleging that on or about March 27, 2015 in Lagos they conspired to commit an offence involving dealing in 3423.097metric tons of crude oil without lawful authority or appropriate license, contrary to Section 1(19)(6) of the Miscellaneous Offence Act, Cap M17.
