Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has dismissed promises that the missing Chibok girls will be rescued, saying it is a lie.Obasanjo who was the guest speaker at the 7th Osun Interactive Session hosted by the Staff Club of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, last Friday, said
“Today, if anybody tells you he will bring back the Chibok schoolgirls, it is a lie. It is a lie. (President Muhammadu) Buhari has even said that he does not have any information about the Chibok girls except those who escaped and some of them have been rehabilitated. “I was talking to a Sierra Leonian diplomat who is responsible for women affairs at the UN. He said to me, ‘For now, sexual violence and human trafficking have been brought together in all areas of insurgency and that is what has happened to the Chibok girls. Some of them were sold and maybe in 10, 20,30 years, we will come back and we will hear some of their stories. But if anybody tells you he will bring back the Chibok girls, it is a lie.”
Thousands of residents of villages on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, fled their communities at the weekend following intensified attacks by the insurgent group, Boko Haram.
The terrorists had lately resorted to suicide bombing of soft targets, using mainly women, after the military chased them out of territories they occupied. President Muhammadu Buhari maintains that the expulsion of Boko Haram from the areas they controlled is a technical defeat of the group.
But Boko Haram fighters resumed coordinated attacks on communities in Borno State recently. They killed 65 persons in Dalori two Saturdays ago and laid siege to two other nearby villages, Mairi and Malari, Friday night where they killed four persons and virtually razed the entire community.
I wonder if Rihanna would be happy with her dad still granting interviews about her ..However, her dad admits he is finding it “tough” to hear her singing on her new album about the savage beating she suffered from Chris Brown , but says he has forgiven her ex.
Her Anti album features the track Love On The Brain in which Rihanna sings:
“It beats me black and blue but it f**** me so good / And I can’t get enough.”
Ronald Fenty told the Mirror:
“I like her stories but this song was tough to listen to. “Chris will always have a place in our family and my heart. He respects me, calls me pops and I like him – despite what happened. He’s very talented and always humble. I’d support them being together.”It was a very difficult time for the whole family. Nobody wants to see their daughter hurt.
