Message To Blackberry Users: Do Not Upgrade Your BBM To New Version 8.0.0.94

The new BBM is so slow that it freezes phones. You do not want your BBM to hang, it is better you keep using the old version 7.0.1.23

If you have already upgraded your BBM and would like to downgrade, follow these steps below.

1. Press Your Blackberry button to go to Menu
2. Select Applications in your Menu
3. Run Blackberry Protect and backup your contacts
4. After backup is complete, go back to Menu
5. Select 'Options'

6. Select 'Device' inside Options
7. Select 'Application Management' inside Device
8. Scroll to Blackberry Messenger and delete it
9 After deleting is complete, it will ask you to restart your phone, let it restart'
10. After your phone restarts, just type 'about' at the home screen of your phone and some icons will pop-up (Browser History, Social Feeds, Facebook, Options, Help etc)
11. Select Options and Click 'About Device Versions' to see your Blackberry OS version

You will see an option that looks like this...
Blackberry (R) 9900
smartphone (3G, CDMA, Wi-Fi)
7.1 Bundle 921 (v7.1.0.267, platform 5.1.0.230)

The red text above tells you that the device is running OS Version 7.1 (Note: Yours might be different from this...maybe 6.1, 7.0 and so on)...

12. After taking note of your OS version

13. Make sure your phone Network is on 3G (for fast download ) and Download the corresponding  Blackberry Messenger according to your OS from the list below...

Blackberry Messenger For OS 5.0 (http://url.prohp.net/zntjn)
Blackberry Messenger For OS 6.0 (http://url.prohp.net/sscvw)
Blackberry Messenger For OS 7.0 (http://url.prohp.net/prkrd)
Blackberry Messenger For OS 7.1 (http://url.prohp.net/meomg)

14. After Clicking on any of the links above, a new page will appear, wait for the page to load completely, lets say 10 seconds.

15. After the page loads completely, scroll to the top right side of the page and click 'SKIP AD'

16. Download and Blackberry Messenger that will pop up, then RUN IT. This usually takes time to complete but if its taking so much time lets say more than 30 minutes, remove your phone's battery and put it back.

After your phone comes up, you will have your old Blackberry Messenger back. Enjoy!

    It all depends on d type of bb ur using and d OS if ur using OS6 it will hang n be slow but if ur using d latest bb or bold touch it will be fyn

      Its hanging..I use bold 5 and mine has 4G network..the interface is great compared to the old one bt its hanging fire..lol

    I upgraded my bbm to the v8......after the restart...I couldn't fing the bbm icon....but its presents at my app list.....I deleted from there.....restarted...and downgraded to the V7.0.1.23 but I still cannot fing the icon..........I need help...plzz..

      try and type BLACKBERRY from your home screen to see if the icon is hidden and if it still didn't show up, run the installation again

    The new version hangs and freezes like mad...-infact I was almost getting a new fone wen a friend told me about dis downgrade cos tot my fone was faulty...thanx for ur wisdom guy,GOD bless u.

    BBM v.8.0.0.94 works perfectly on Bold 9900 now. I don't think anyone needs to have problems anymore. If you still finding problems, that's cuz your RAM is too small to run the new version. Its clear the bugs have been fixed

    Real phone saver..I upgraded my BBM 3days ago nd cudnt find d icon,I waz so angry nd broke my BB buh I repaired it bck yterday since yterday ve been tryin 2 reinstall it bck 2 no avail untill I came across ur post..tanx so much GOD BLESS u...my old BBM is back nd better

    I did all u stated above, nd it has bin tellin mii "setting up BBM" nd ntyn else. Even if it wants to write sumtin else, it wud say "cannot set up BBM" plz help mii. Am already tired
