This is such a heart breaking story. The lifeless body of a 9-year-old girl who was suffering from cerebral palsy was found inside a refrigerator in her family’s apartment.
A neighbour who claimed to be concerned after not seeing the little girl, Ayahna Comb around for five months discovered her corpse. The neighbour told reported that the apartment door was opened when he entered the house to check on the little girl and instead found her dead body.
According to KHOU, police and paramedics swiftly arrived on the scene and confirmed that the little girl was dead, estimating that her body had been in the fridge for at least one month or more.
After conducting some investigation into the girl’s parents, law enforcement officials received a statement from the mother and caretaker, Amber Keyes, admitting that she placed the girl's body in a refrigerator after the little girl stopped breathing on January 29, 2014. The cause of death remains unknown.
According to additional reports, the deceased little girl’s father, Armand Comb, claimed that he believed the child was still alive. He also claimed that he saw Ayahna two months ago, contradicting Keyes’ report that she died in January. Both parents are currently under further investigation.
Keyes who also has a five-year-old daughter hid the death of Ayahna from her younger sister. She continued collecting Social Security Disability income and food stamps for her Ayahna after her death.
