Chinedu Ubachukwu has emerged winner of the 11th edition of Gulder Ultimate Search.

Chinedu beat the two other finalists Cosy Joe & Afolabi Emmanuel to the ultimate prize by being the only person to complete the final task of retrieving the General’s War Helmet. This victory came after the 24-year-old graduate of Petroleum & Gas at University of Port Harcourt successfully navigated his way through the forest and managed to row his canoe across the heavy currents of Aguleri River.

A suspected cocaine dealer, Kingsley Agu, who was recently arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos has told operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency that he took to crime because he needed money to fund his father’s burial.

30-year-old Agu was arrested with two others – Joseph Ezenna and Israel Okoye – for smuggling cocaine valued at N131m from Brazil.

According to actor Manuel Udokwu's wife ,she was on her way to work when she saw people gathered around. At first she thought it was an accident and wanted to help the victims only to get close and found out it was a dead baby abandoned to die in a refuse dump by a heartless mother. Apple CEO Tim Cook reveals he is GAY

Timothy D. Cook, Apple’s chief executive, said he was “proud to be gay” in an essay published early Thursday, becoming by far the most prominent executive of a public company to come out.

“Let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me,” Mr. Cook wrote in the essay, published by Bloomberg Businessweek.

Mr. Cook, 53, has never spoken publicly about his sexual orientation in the many years he has worked in the spotlight at Apple.

Disturbing  new images have emerged showing young Syrian children being trained at a military camp run by ISIS.

The photos were shared online by a secret anti-ISIS group " Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently" . The  school near the jihadis' capital Raqqa, show children barely older than five being taught basic combat and survival skills, learning how to use  assault rifles, and being given lessons in extremist ideology.

Ifeoma Okechukwu has been arrested after she killed an unidentified suspected rapist in Lekki area of Lagos State while attempting to rape her. According to report, the incident happened on Monday, around 12.30pm, in Atlantic View Estate, Alpha Beach Road, Lekki.

Punch learnt that Okechukwu was on her menstrual period and had gone out to buy sanitary pads. The Imo State indigene was said to be on her way back home when she was accosted by the stranger. She said,

Joy Willaims, a 23-year old Nigerian-British girl has reportedly died in Thailand on October 23 after travelling to Bangkok to have £2,000 buttock augmentation surgery. Her family who are still shocked said they didn't know she traveled down to Thailand.

Joy's elder brother Anietie, 28, said he had been looking forward to her visiting him in Nigeria this Christmas.

Man commits suicide over N1,000 theft in Ebonyi

A 32-year-old man, Mr. Simon Mbam, of Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has committed suicide after he was tortured by some villagers for allegedly stealing N1,000 from a shop in the market.

The victim, who jumped into a pond in the area last weekend, found himself in the mess when he left his house in the evening of the fateful day to buy drinks with his friends.

While late Simon and his friends were busy sipping their drinks, the owner of the shop raised an alarm over a missing N1,000 in his carton of drinks, but no customer admitted to haven taken the money.

Senior Prophet Tb Joshua, founder of Synagogue Church of All Nation, SCOAN, received a warning of arrest if he failed to give a detailed account of the deaths of 116 people who were killed by the Collapsed building at his church.

One of the coroners, Oyetade Komolafe turned down submissions from Tb Joshua’s lawyers that the Prophet, should not be summoned because he isn't a direct witness to the September 12 tragedy.

MCSN loses out to COSON and NCC

The Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) has again lost its longtime battle to to operate as a collecting society in Nigeria without the approval of Nigerian Copyright Commission. the death knell was delivered by Honourable Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Ikoyi Lagos in suit N0 FHC/L/CG/377/2013 between MCSN V COCON and NCC on Friday 24th October 2014.

In his ruling, the Honourable Judge struck out the plaintiff's (MCSN) suit on the grounds that they lacked the requisite Locus standi to institute an action against Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) and Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC).

Panel clears Oritsejafor, Asari Dokubo over $9.3m arms deal

A secret panel raised by the Federal Government has reportedly cleared the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayo Oritsejafor, and Alhaji Mujahideen Asari-Dokubo of involvement in the $9.3 million arms’ deal.

PDP rejects 2 Presidential aspirants after collecting their N24m

South Africa Goalkeeper and Captain Senzo Meyiwa shot dead in Johannesburg

South Africa football captain Senzo Meyiwa has been shot dead in Johannesburg only hours after playing a match, police have said in a statement.

Meyiwa, who played for Orlando Pirates, was shot dead when intruders entered his girlfriend's house in Vosloorus, a town 20 miles south of Johannesburg. According to the South African Police Service, two men entered the house, around 20:00 (18:00GMT), while a third man remained outside. All three

fled after shots were fired, in what local media reports say was an attempted burglary. The South African goalkeeper was reportedly shot in the chest at his girlfriend's house in Vosloorus.

Residents of Onimaba, College Bus stop, Ikotun Road, Igando, Lagos have been living in fear since last week Thursday when a letter purportedly written by armed robbers circulated their streets.

Millions of Ebola vaccine doses to hit market by end of 2015 - WHO

With the Ebola Virus taking more lives, the WHO has revealed vaccines will be available in 2015.

According to Reuters, two leading vaccine candidates are in human clinical trials, and said another five experimental vaccines were also being developed and would begin clinical trials next year.

WHO’s Marie-Paule Kieny told reporters after a meeting in Geneva.
