Tension as fire broke out of Dubai’s Torch Tower [VIDEO]
A fire broke out after midnight in one of the world’s tallest residential towers in Dubai, engulfing part of the skyscraper and sending chunks of debris plummeting below.
More than 40 floors of the 86-storey Torch Tower were burning on one side of the building, an Associated Press journalist near the scene of the blaze said.

SunNews has however gathered that Evans is not dead as his family now fears but has been moved from the Lagos police command headquarters cell by about 30 heavily armed men at midnight few days ago to an undisclosed destination. Some senior police officers in the know told Saturday Sun he was moved to Abuja.

The untreatable strain of gonorrhoea is rapidly spreading across the world putting millions of lives at risk, the World Health Organisation has warned.
Experts said that incurable gonorrhoea has started to spread after becoming resistant to antibiotics, which has been partly caused by oral sex and a decline in condom use.
US and Russia agree new Syria ceasefire deal
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump have agreed on a ceasefire deal covering south-western Syria. during talks at the G20 summit, officials from both countries said.
The deal was reached during the two leaders' meeting in Hamburg on Friday on the sidelines of the G-20 summit of industrialised and developing nations.
In comments carried by Russia's state-run TASS news agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the truce would come into effect at midday Damascus time (0900 GMT) on Sunday.

Brandy hospitalized after losing consciousness on a plane
Brandy lost consciousness on a Delta Airlines flight at LAX this morning and was rushed to a hospital. Police said officers and firefighter-paramedics responded to a report of a person who was "unconscious or almost unconscious" shortly after boarding a Delta Airlines plane and it turned out to be the singer.

Igbos should stop complaining, they didn’t invest in Buhari’s campaign – Ngige
The Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, has asked the Southeast to stop complaining of marginalisation by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.

Ebola: FG, LASG to Sanction Kenya Airways over Conveyance of Dead Body to Nigeria
The Federal and Lagos State Governments are seeking sanction for Kenya Airways for conveying a dead body from Ebola infested Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, without approval from the necessary bodies.
This is coming as the corpse flown in from DRC has tested negative to the deadly Ebola virus.
At a joint news conference on Thursday in Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, Lagos Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris said the Kenya airline conveyed the deceased to Nigeria against the extant regulation.

Bomber Salman Adebi phoned his nuclear scientist mother hours before his deadly attack and said 'forgive me', a Libyan anti-terror official has said.
A Libyan security source revealed Abedi rang his younger brother Hashem in Libya, telling him to get their mother Samia Tabbal, 50, to call him.

Police in Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh, India, were called to reports of a dead body near train tracks. According to a witness present there, a woman was seen lying on the ground near the railway track and a child next to her was crying and drinking milk from her breast. The 7-month old was unaware that his mother was dead.

A NairaBet agent ended his life, on Wednesday, over his inability to pay a customer who allegedly won a N600,000 bet.
According to Punch, Residents of Obadeyi Ajala woke up on Wednesday to find the deceased dangling from a rope in an uncompleted shop at Ajala bus stop, on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
A girlfriend of the deceased, who reportedly worked in a filling station in the area, was alerted. The lady reportedly passed out on sighting the body, but was revived by the sympathisers at the scene.

The controversial lawyer who was disbarred in New York and Maryland for professional misconduct in 2013 relocated to Nigeria to continue his practice. He was part of the legal team who facilitated the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB from Kuje prison.

Lady commits suicide by ingesting Sniper insecticide in Lagos
Tragedy struck in the Ajuwon area of Lagos State on Wednesday May 17, at Bada Hospital at Bale road, when a young lady said to be in her late 20's committed suicide by drinking sniper insecticide, LIB reports.
The lady, identified as Patience Akpan, was said to have left her father's place that Wednesday afternoon before she was seen in another street within the area wringing in pains, with the sniper bottle still in her hands.

13 year old student left with horrific burns after following wrong medication by school nurse [PHOTOS]
A 13-year-old student of the Command Secondary School in Suleja is left with horiffic burns after he was administered wrong medication by a nurse at the school clinic.
According to SaharaReporters, the incident occurred on April 30 when the student sought medical treatment for having high body temperature. After the drugs were administered to the student, he began to develop rashes all over his body.

Whistleblowers arrested for giving false information to the EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 arraigned the duo of Buhari. Fannami and Ba-Kura Abdullahi on two separate one count charge before Justice M. T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri, for allegedly giving false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy.
Fannamit had misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba’a Lawan but the information turned out to be false after the execution of a search warrant.
RRS arrests Homosexual man for having sex with 4 Secondary school boys in Lagos

Ex-Bayelsa PDP chairman assassinated
A former Acting State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bayelsa State, Mr. Christopher Hobobo, has been assassinated.
He was reportedly assassinated in his residence on the PDP Road, Yenagoa, the state capital.
Hobobo, who hailed from Agbere town in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, was allegedly stabbed to death by unknown assassins in the early hours of Wednesday.

A 29-year-old man, Rex Kpanor, a cleaner at the Cardio Thoracic Centre, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, has been arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend at Labadi, a suburb of Accra, Ghana.
The victim, Christiana Ohenewaa Anim, a mother of three was purportedly killed following a misunderstanding between her and the suspect.
“I am satisfied that she is dead and I don't regret killing her. Now the police can do whatever they want to do with me….” . These were the purported words of Rex.
